phanatic1 Come join the fun at the Cumberland County Library with the green 6 foot 6 inch 300 pound Phillie Phanatic appearing on Monday, July 1st from 6:00PM - 7:00PM.

In addition to cheering on the Phillies, reading is one of his favorite hobbies. This feathery, green creature from the Galapagos Islands was named after Philadelphia’s fanatical fans. His bountiful belly shakes are part of the fun of a Phillies baseball game.

Come find out what ideas the mischievous Phanatic has in mind for the county library. Whatever the Phanatic does, your day will be brightened.

Come And Celebrate Our 50th Anniversary

50 years The Friends of the Cumberland County Library are looking for a few good men, women, and young people to volunteer to help celebrate the library’s 50th Anniversary in 2013. July is the month that the library was founded. A family friendly celebration is being planned for July 13th from 10:00AM - 3:00PM at the County Complex on Rt. 49. During the celebration, the Summer Reading Program “Dig into Reading” will also be signing up participants.

The Friends of the Cumberland County Library are extending an invitation to all residents to attend our next meeting on Monday June 10th at 6:00PM.

Jail/Library Resource Sharing Program

Men and women are reading Cumberland County Library paperback books. These are books that could be read anywhere, but they are not being read just “anywhere.” The people are wearing bright orange jumpsuits with the letters “DOC” -- for the Cumberland County Department of Corrections.
